Annabelle Potvin, ACSW

Hi! I’m Annabelle Potvin. I come to this work with a decade of experience in the mental health field. I’ve had roles ranging from state mental health policy advocate, case manager, addiction and mental health counselor, crisis support for teens, and individual therapy with adults healing from trauma of many kinds.

As it often does, everything shifted after the birth of my daughter. After navigating a tough start to new motherhood and receiving incredible support, I wanted to give back. I redirected my career to supporting parents and young children during the most sensitive, formative stage of life—first as a perinatal therapist, now as an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant supporting Oakland public preschools. My work is fueled by the belief that if we invest in the well-being of parents and children, we can build a society that feels safe, connected, and guided by love instead of fear.

Most importantly, I come to this work as a fellow parent who knows the profound joys AND struggles of this time. I know what it’s like to laugh with my child and feel divine connection. I also know what it’s like to wake up exhausted with a 3 year old kicking me in the face and to feel DONE before the day has even begun. I know what it’s like to yell at my child and get hit with a brutal shame hangover. I can promise you that I will never judge you. I will support your family with deep curiosity, thoughtful partnership, and genuine care.
